InGame audio will quit if you have the Game's audio 'Hardware Acceleration' disabled. Keep enabled for TS2. However 1942 typically runs better without Hardware Acceleration enabled - less stuttering graphically. Personally, I have Direct Sound enabled in TS2 but did not try Wave to see if it was part of the problem. Using GSM 14.8Kbit on DSL. Sometimes I get popping/dropout during harddrive access but that is somewhat understandable. Also I am using Patch 23 of the TS2 executable(find it in the Windows - Client folder first message

I have BF42 Retail 1.2, WinXP, a SB Live with the latest Creative drivers and TS2 set to use Direct Sound.

Within BF42 I ENABLED Sound Hardware Accelaration as I suffer from bad and stuttering sound within the game.

But I do not have any problems...
