UT2004 and Teamspeak - Both chats not possible?

Can anyone verify this? Is it just not possible for alsa to accept recording from both teamspeak AND ut2004 at the same time? sure would be nice..........


BTW i have an audigy 2. arts is turned off.

I think there's a patch for one of the newer alsa-versions that allows more than one application to take the recording stream. Still I just heard that and I never tested it myself... The soundcard should be able to handle more than 1 rec-streams.

I use nforce2 without soundstorm and it doesn't support HW mixing.

I managed to set up dmix but was unable to use capture in TS. Artsdsp segfaults wit ut2004, other games work fine.

So I ordered SB Live 5.1 yesterday. It's only like 13 euros and hardware mixing shouldn't "eat" main CPU.

I didn't try alsa patch for multiple capture streams.

Sorry not a solution just my experience on the matter.

I'm using Mandrake 10.1 with 2..6.8 kernel.

P.S.: You probably kow this already, but anyway... when I compiled custom sdl from cvs I gained like atleast 20 fps in UT2004.
