- 8767 UDP (for a virtual server with the port 8767) all servers need this enless your useing diferant port then port foward that in your router

- 14534 TCP (WebInterface) only needed if you want a remote admin . you can admin from your pc to your server on your pc with out this

- 51234 TCP (Telnet) same thing only needed if your needing remote access to a server hosted by someone else for you

here is a site with many router port fowarding walk thrus http://www.xbchelp.com/router/

not open the ports (unless you have a firewall on the access device as well) FORWARD the port(s). Mainly the TS server port (8767 UDP) MUST be forwarded in your router (your routers manual will help you)

PS: be VERY carefull to whom you give remote access. There are lots of people looking for a PC's to take over or simple to test any trojans => I wouldn't do this !

I actually have experience with this stuff, and i can't seem to forward that udp port either. I have even tried setting my computer up as a DMZ server, and still no deal. I can connect to the server using my internal ip address 192.168.0.2, but for some reason, my external ip addy isn't working either. I VNC'd over to my work computer, and again, even a external connection can't access it, even though i can pathping straight to my actual computer. A little help would be greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

You by yourself can most surely not test the WAN access cause you have a cheap crappy router which can not handle such requests.
=> from within the LAN ONLY use the LAN IP. Someone from outside your LAN has to test if the port forwarding is set correct.

ya, thats the thing, i VNC'd to my work computer, and it sitll wouldn't work using the external IP address... You are right about one thing though. My router is a peice of junk. I am gonna go thieve my Lynksys one i left in my old room at my dads. I'll post back on here and tell you how it went.
