I would like to give someone the same access as I have as SA. Meaning they can enter passworded rooms, move people and ban. At first I thought CA did this but it doesn't quite cover all the jobs I want this person to have. I was thinking of making them SA but have a few questions.

If I have it set so the SA can only be made via the web page would this secure my server from them having access to my web page information, changes and account information. I would like them to be SA in team speak only and not have access to the control panel. I am assuming even if they did change the password to take the server over I could override them by using the web based control panel to change it back correct?

Is there a huge NO NO in making someone besides myself an SA?

If you have that much doubt or concern do not grant them SA.

If you host the server on your home IP you could disable the web admin, but IMHO I wouldn't grant him SA.

you can do like i do , if you so chose, i have all players log in as (U) users and a few i know /trust and have game with for some time now i make (R) users but in the web interface i have changed there rights as (R) users so they can kick , ban , and move players , text to all , kick from channel , and a few more , the ban is not really needed enless your not on much , but be careful not to give it to someone that might ban you (LOL)with that said if your a server owner that feels that all members need to be reg-ed this will not work for you enless you remove some accounts first or trust all your members , i don't give (R) to kids nor do i give it to players that have attatude , and i make all (R) use the kick with reason , or ban with reason , or text me with in a few seconds of a kick to post the reason or i remove there (R) once the trust has been broken or taken advantage of there is no giveng it back . so admin with a stern hand and inforse the rules you set , and you should be fine.

I belong to a guild that has a teamspeak server hosted by a service, and paid for by one of the members. I talked him into letting me be an SA, since I'have experience running my own server. He agreed, and then handed out SA to a few of his guild buddies also.

I talked him into revoking the SA on his buddies that don't know how to admin a server, and gave them CA instead.

Next, I went into the admin console and disabled SA's ability to grant (and revoke) SA from within the client. That way, he won't accidently set anyone else to SA without using the web admin console. I also disabled SA's ability to start/stop the server. The only thing I haven't done yet is to revoke SA's ability to turn those permissions back on via the web admin console...

This means that in order for someone to trick my SA's into granting them SA, my SA's would have to log into the web admin page (only me and the owner know how), and manually either set them as SA, or turn on SA permissions and then grant it to them. Then, the attacker would have to FIND the web admin port on the server. ...that, or hack my SA's passwords... Luckily, my SA's are password anal. :D

If an attacker were to try to walk my SA's through those steps, hopefully, my SA's would catch on that something is wrong.
