I'm having problems setting up my server with a dynamic IP address and DNS hosting. I'v tried 2 DNS hosts which are DYNDNS.org and No-Ip.com. When I tell my buddies my Ip address(WAN side of course) everything works fine. When I tell them to use my DNS name They can't connect?? I have a dedicated machine to host the TS server and the game we are playing. My ISP provides me with a dynamic Ip, I'm using a Linksys BEFSR11 router that is forwarding port 8767 to the inside local machine's IP that is hosting the TS server. When I set up the DNS hosting (It's a free sub-domain of course) I have it set to do a port redirect from port 80 to 8767 is there any telling if it will change the protocol from tcp to Udp??? Any suggestions would be great. I also run the appropriate DNS hosts Ip update client as well just to make sure everything is as it should be.

Thanks in advance,

Darcy

the dyndny name is just a linked name to your actual WAN IP. Simply setup a port forwarding on your router as you have done it already. I wouldnt knwo what you want to do with a port redirecting or TCP/UDP ? You do NOT have to configure the dyndns account, apart from telling it your WAN IP which it will then link to your choosen DNS name.

- have you updated the dnydns databse with your actual WAN IP
- can your buddys ping the dns name and do they get the correct IP (your WAN IP)
- anything in the server/client log
