Need help.

Hello there people.

Does anyone know how to set up at TS server with a public and a private channel..

The Public should be so unreged users can use it as they like but the private should be with a password and be so you cant se anyof the channels, people in the other channels ect..

Can anyone tell me how to do that ??

btw its a linux server

from the client you can make channels if logged in with a user with the permisions to do so.
set you default channel with no password and edit the name of channel how you want it .. create new channels as you see fit & named how you need them , in the create new channel box you will see a few lines you can fill out ...

NAME: is the name you want to see in the list of channels.
TOPIC: ie so players can see what channel is about/for info is listed in right window in ts client
PASSWORD: ie whatever you place in this line is what needs to be placed into pop up box to enter channel , with the exception of users with webadimed permissions to enter pasworded channels without the password but (U) dont have this set as default .
CODEC: sets the bandwith used by the client with a list of diferant codecs to chose from also you can edit this list from the web admin to allow only the ones you want to show in this list .
DESCR: is a longer version of topic to describe the channel in detail if wanted .
MAX USERS: is how many players max can use this channel at 1 time .
FLAGS: registered - keeps the channel in place after last man leaves chanel makes it perminent .
MODERATED: players have to ask for permission to talk ok for meetings but more a pain then it's worth in my book lol .
SUB-CHANNELS: if you want or need channels directly under the main channel like red & blue team you need this checked .
DEFAULT: is the channel you log into when you join a server , so in your case you dont want this channel passworded

after you have created a channel you will see () with letters in them these corinspond to the flags you set D = default , R = registered , M = moderated , S = Sub-channels , & P = passworded but only shows up if a password is typed in the password line !

that wassent wot i was looking for cus i know that stuff already :D

But i saw on a Public server that there was 1 public channel and 1 private where you could not se anything in there so + it was passworded so what im looking for is how do i have the content of the private channel ?

in the web admin you can set your server to public or clan i will define public in a nut shell you can,t see in other channels , clan you can see in all the channels .... so a public server with 2 channels in it 1 with a passord on it = a room you cant get in to or even see if there is any one in it

Thanks for the reply and if tryed it but is there any way that you can hide that channels in the pasworded channel so the public people cannot se what is going on in there

There is no way to create a "hidden" channel on a server that is set to Public. The best that you can do is create a password-protected channel. People will be able to see who is in the channel, but will not be able to join without the password.

sounded to me he just does not want others to see whos in it and the server set on public will hide others from view , along with a password on a second channel noone can enter but those with the password will work "if your not in the channel you can't see in the channel"
