starting a server

hello, iv got teamspeak and the teamspeak serv but i don't get how to start a server a created a new one and when i start working in it i select it, but when i give the ip to friends no-one can connect, but iself i can connect
i also want to kwow how i can make subchannels

The FAQ mention a required "port forwarding" in your access device (router). Have you configured this ?
