A semi-bf of mine found out Im talking to a guy on Team Speak and claimed to be recording our team speak conversations. Can this be done? How can I stop this invasion of privacy on my computer besides calling the police?HELP!! plz
Overcome being a midnight-flasher and educate yourself. As long as you and that other guy are alone in a Teamspeak channel there's no way he can record your conversation without being obvious, meaning hanging out in your channel or installing and running a sound recorder on your computer or actually BEING that other guy. :D

1. He is definatly not that other guy
2. You can speak privately in teamspeak so it wouldnt matter if he was in the same room
3. If it is a program on my pc then I would see it I mean after all I do have an administrators account. If theres one thing I can control is what goes on on my pc.*sigh* forget it... some peope can just out geek a sister :P.
Perhaps if you have any thing more helpful to say you can blurt it out here and help me "educate myself" oh mousey one.
"The 'Midnight Flasher' is a Lawrence philosopher born in Illinois,"
what does he have to do with all of this *scratches head*
Midnight-flasher (Mitternachtsblinker): A person whose VCR clock constantly flashes 0:00.
In my uni this term has established itself as a description for people who don't bother reading scripts, books or manuals.

brain, what you've said isn't at ALL helpful. stalking is a SERIOUS problem, especially on line. SomeGirl, check your mail :)

If you actually read what he said after the "midnight-flasher" comment, you'd see that he told her that the only way to record the conversation is to be in the same TS channel (very obvious that you're not alone), or connect a tape recorder to one of the PCs.

Thank you warmonger What you said made alot of sense and I found the source of him recording. This computer is linked a network and on the other computer there is a tape recorder tsk tsk tsk. Yes someone stalking is very serious and shouldn't be taken lightly.YOu rock Warmonger!

This computer is linked a network and on the other computer there is a tape recorder tsk tsk tsk.
So you're saying there are 3 PCs
(a) Yours
(b) The guy your talking to
(c) The "Semi-BF"
(a) and (c) are on a network, and the tape recorder is on (c)
If (a) and (b) are in a TS channel, there's no (legal) way (c) could record the conversation UNLESS it was in the channel too.
I'd have thought that the kind of hacking required would be illegal.
Why use a tape recorder when the computer could record the sound?
In my opinion, he's bluffing - Ask to hear one of the tapes as proof he's recording. If he really is, call the police and get him locked up for hacking and stalking.
And actually, Warmonger's comment is far less helpful than Brain's. If he's so concerned about stalkers that he's giving advice, why not do it publicly?
Actually I think SomeGirl is a fake. She appeared just at that time when someone else who was banned from this forum wrote me an irate email.

You mean there may also be the possibility that "somegirl" is the "semi-BF" trying to find out how to hack in to TS?
If you were a girl scared shitless about a stalker, would you register as "somegirl" to a forum this very same stalker might frequent and describe the setup and problem?
If you take a close look at the seed post you'll notice it has the classical setup for a thread to go FUD. That warmonger who just happened to pop up offering help via mail fits right in.

"FUD"?
It does seem a bit suspicious, now you mention it.
FUD = Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. It's a strategy to make your customers feel nervous about migrating to a competitor's product ("You can change to X, but you might lose all your data"). It was first used by some guy who left IBM to create his own company to describe IBM's politics against him.
In a more general way this acronym is used nowadays to describe purposefully misleading or instigating publications.
