Lo all, new to the TS Forum.

I got a prob i just cant get round and thought hopefully some 1 could give me some tips on where im going wrong!!

The prob im having is with my "Static" ip.

I use to be able to run a server for a game wich every 1 could connect to, when i had a standard Adsl Modem.

However i have recently got a wireless Belkin Router modem to wich i have two pc's connected.

For some unknown reason, if i create the server i can connect to it using the static ip my server shows but no 1 else can. Yet if i update the web server list, i can find my sever but it has a different ip showing!!!!

No 1 else can connect to either ip and i can only still connect to the
static ip my server shows.

Some 1 plz help as all my friends have Dynamic ip's and its bloody annoing having to type in the ip every time.

Cheers for any help.

Regards.

Lee.

After checking the following link :-

http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=15092

I had a look at my Wan portsand low and behold i've set it too "ip assighned by isp"

So all it shows is 0.0.0.0.

What i dont understand is that if i try to set anything in the "virtual server" it just says "WAN port error".

So how can i get around this?

Any ideas welcome.

Cheers again,

Lee.

You know about the LAN and the WAN IP ? One can only be used within the LAN, the other can/should only be used from the WAN.

Have you setup a port forwarding (As mentioned in the FAQ) in your router for the TS server port ?
The error you mention seems to be a router specific error message. Check your manual or the support page of your router what it means ?

CHeers Guldi, i think im slowly getting there.

JUst two things i havnt got a clue about.

Ive found virtual server and in there lists the following :-

"Lan ip" - wich from what i can make out is mine.

"Protocol type", Tcp and Udp, or both. - Tcp im guessing is the best bet.

then you have

"Lan Port" and "public port"

Its these too that i havnt got a clue what goes in them.

If im right then the "Lan port" should be 8767. When i enable it though and try to set it it says ""WAN PORT ERROR""

Ive checked my server for them and my router but cant find anything.

I'm really sorry for being a pain but as ive said before, im new to this and it obviously doesnt take much to confuse me!!

Any ideas any 1 would be much appreciated!

a lan ip is issued from the router and is only good from inside the lan , teamspeaks default port is 8767 udp , set this in your router , hand out your wan ip "the globe" to your buds to connect to your server ...

that would be a bad bet !
As mentioned in the FAQ, TS uses UDP for the voice traffic ! TCP is only used for the webadmin or TCP Query Port which I guess you do not want to open to the "world".

Just another thanks every 1, finally got it sorted!

Had it working at 1 point then it stoped.

Couldnt understand why until i realised the first few times i didnt have Zone Alarm installed!

That was blocking it too.

Now runs as sweet as a nut.

Cheers again :)
