My sound card is a SB Audigy Platinum.
To make matters worse I'm a linux noob. I have sound coming out my speakers. I turned my mic up in the mixer properties. It's not muted and I can hear myself. When I activate test mode I cannot hear anything. I went into the control center and enabled full duplex and that didn't seem to do anything. I read somewhere in another post that I should check to see if capture is enabled. Where can I find that? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, I went back to an old suse 8.2 install and enabled full duplex and BOOM! everything works WOOT!

I haven't been able to get TS to work in linux in quite awhile. I too had it working back in 8.2 I think but it did not work in 9.1 or now in 9.2. I believe the problem must be in the use now of alsa and the OSS interface to alsa.

Anyone else have the mic working in SuSE of late? I can use other programs to record sound but not TS.

Try to install another mixer software!

I was successfull in using "KaMix" instead of "KMix": In the "Capture" mixer card you can find a checkbox called "Activate" under the "Capture" slider. It works for me :D
