View Full Version : Audigy2 - REC input changes to WAVE (from mic) by itself

I have an odd problem with my Audigy 2 card in games:

I'm playing a game (say CS:Source) and using Teamspeak (latest win client).

Every now and then the windows mixer will change the input I have selected from Line-in1/Mic to Wave.

This of course causes loss of sending my voice and the rest of the people in my TS channel will get a echo in their sound (due to wave being sent back to them).

I don't have any key binding configured in the CS:S voice comms (CS:S internal voicecomm is turned OFF) or in the Teamspeak.

So I'm quite sure I'm not changing the input myself.

I've of course tried searching at here, 3dss forums and teamspeak, but haven't found a solution.

If you have an idea, please chime in.

running XP os ? it has been known to change setting befor..
can you set your input out put to ts to your onboard sound card ? with a set of old speakers & your mic , so the audgy dont get shared ?

Unfortunately I have only one sound card that has a mic-level input (Audigy 2) and the same sound card has my main Directsound3D/EAX output.

So I can't use two soundcards.

Ah well, time to start debugging one by one: remove teamspeak -> test, remove cs:s -> test, remove drivers -> test, etc...

Found the fix, it's a HL2/CSS issue:

http://steampowered.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=237

Add this line in userconfig.cfg:

voice_forcemicrecord 0

or in the launch properties for each game you play:

+voice_forcemicrecord 0
