really quiet mic

I have all the sound settings up full, but ppl cant hear me very well at all. When i select the "boost"
under recording you should find a micro boost option which you can enable. As far as I knwo this feature is often needed.

they can hear me, but i have loads of static constantly, even when im not talking.

Any ideas to get my mic louder but not have this static from boost option ?

is static still there if you slide the slider down from max a bit and still use the mic booster ? maxed out with mic booster could = static

is the mic a sh*ty mic ?

There are 2 sound settings. Mic playback and mic recording.

Also, "Settings" then "Options" then the sound drivers and devices. ;)
