No, this isn't a Harlan Ellison sequel :)

I'm a first time TS user - playing Worlds of Warcraft. I can log on and here the other members of my group, but they can't hear me (and yes, I already tested the microphone - it works). Anyone have any ideas what's preventing me from communicating to my group?

Regards,

MM :(

You should experiment around first... but oh well...
The reason that you cannot speak is because the channel is moderated (M), and therefore voice rights must be granted to you by the channel operator or channel admin before you can speak.

well lets see there are only 2 places to set the mic/turn it on for ts . first is in the ts settings options/sound devices tab, most people know of this or at least looked in it , the second is in the operating systems sound propertys / mixers settings . so your mic is not working ? is the mic and mic booster checked in the mixer ? if not your mic could be off , noone can hear ya so yes i am trying to help .
dont want help ? i will be more than happy to not post any more help in this thread if you dont think it's helps you out

mic on/working

Sound settings:
Output volume - Normal
Voice send method - Voice activation
Voice activation level - 50%
Test Codec - CELP 5.1 Kbit

I Got a new computer today, loaded TS.
I was able to hear everyone and talk, got a BIG echo. SO I made a different channel to mess around with it and now I can't be heard but, I can hear.

use better codec 9.3 or higher are the better 1's

echo is most like 1 of two things voice act. is set so mic is picking up sound from speakers or in the mixer settings the "what you hear" is checked in the recording settings

you made a new channel... is the channel moderated ? you have to have voice rights to speak in a moderated channel

Set it to Speex 12.3 - nothing

Have headset, no speakers.
Only selection in the "Recording Settings" is Start Recording.

I have voice rights.

i was not refering to team speak recording setting , look for the operating systems mixer/sound propertys mic and mic booster , make sure they got check boxes by them to turn mic on

Possible to get an echo when you talk if mic is off? People heard me so I assume it's on.

But yes everything is on.

echo is most likely from the mixer setting "what you hear" has a check in it's box remove the check echo should stop
