Hi Guys,
I fly with the virtual belgian air force and we use teamspeak for our communication with the air trafic controll towers and ventrillo for our internal comms. it works with everyone in our AF but I can't run the 2 at the same time. When ventrillo is running and I start teamspeak I get the mike muted icon. somtimes i get an error like "waveinopen attempted to open with an unsupported waveform-audio format". When i open teamspeak first and then ventrillo, ventrillo says "failed to open input device. another program might have it open already".
it seems that they both want to use the same channel and this can't be done. Does anyone here know a solution to this problem? Everyone else seems to get the 2 progs working together just fine :-s. I run win2000pro and have a soundblaster live! 1024 sound card.
thanks,
Fouga

Hello!

I have exactly the same problem: I can only use one voice-application.
I want to use ingame-voice and teamspeak simultanely, but I got the same error like you.

Using: Windows 2000 prof., AC97 Audio onboard.
But I think, the Onboard-Sound isnt the problem. A friend with the same board can use it in this way.

Any ideas?

it's a limitation of win 2000 mic can only be used by 1 app at a time

in widows 2000 if you have 2 sound cards 1 onboard and 1 pci sloted card you can use and onboard for ts and the pci sloted card for windows / games . tested on my sys i have 10 speakers 2 for ts . 8 for games / windows

limitation of win 2000 , install a pci sloted sound card and you can point ts to the onboard card and any other app to the second

I have the same message but this is something new as i have been using TS for several months successfully. The only thing that i have installed since the last time i used TS was Norton 2006 but havve allowed my TS server's IP as i did with norton 2005 so i don't think that's it.
any help would be appreciated . i use TS on a laptop with a built in soundcard that worked fine before and OS windows XP

Try disabline Noton all together, then see what happens, if it works successfully then there is something you're missing in Norton that isn't allowing IP passage...
