witch codec should i select for my server? is one better then the other?

yes of course, they do not offer the same quality as they do not require the same bandwidth

There is not "perfect" codec as this highly depends on the your setting. In a LAN with more then enough bandwidth, the highest codec however is usually the one you should chosse, but if you're behind a 56k modem, the highest codec might "kill your connection".......and so on
