View Full Version : Ok Here is an interesting one
Server is running fine, only one litte snag. Some people can connect, others can not. There seems to be no common link between any of the people trying to connect. They are getting the standard timeout error. But for some reason, others can connect with no problems at all and everything works smooth for them. The server is not behind a firewall or router, I have gone through the FAQs and fourm several times, and can't seem to find the answer I am looking for. Even got everyone to check what versions of TS they are running. The server is the most recient version. There seems to be no reason as to why it works for some and not for others. Please any thoughts would help.
Can those that cannot connect ping or trace the IP of the TS Server ?
1) have you tried the "bind to IP trick" which is described in one of the FAQ thread ?
2) have those who get timeout tried with their client into debug mode (as well mentioned in the FAQ "no reply")?
Have had them try the debug mode, to no help.
Trying the BindIP trick today when I get a chance. But I'm still a bit skeptic.
Server is finally working, to anyone wondering the BindIP trick is what worked. Thank you all for all your help. :D They should put that as a standard setup procedure or something.. talk about a pain in the ***
standard: probably not required ?
As I understand it it only happends with NAT <-> NAT connections. If you ever read a bit in detail how NAT (should) work you'll soon notice that NAT offers a wide range of problems as it is quite complex => Cheap home router => weaker NAT Implementation => more bugs
Glad you could solve it in the end... lot's of fun with TS !
