Hello all! I’m a new administrator with TS2 on a Windows 2000 Server. I’ve read through many security and encryption posts and haven’t come across any that suggests encrypting the voice. I would like to run a TS server on our company Intranet but the security folks have issues with unencrypted VoIP. (We can’t use VoIP phone services for company business.)

If I may ask here, is the ESP – Triple DES, MD5 security, IKE: Diffie-Hellman Group II, with the tunnel we use to get on the corporate network a good argument to allow us to use TS for the employees that work from home?

Thanks for considering my suggestion and any response.

Just FYI; my company basically doesn’t have a problem with the voice not being encrypted as long as the server resides on the Intranet. However, the TeamSpeak2 application will be evaluated for security purposes. Our voice group will also be involved. I’ll keep you posted when TeamSpeak2 makes the approved application list, or not. If approved, we will be purchasing a license.

TS2 doesn't support native voice encryption, you need to transmit the audio stream via an encrypted tunnel.
