TS locks up computer

TS will freeze my computer, time before freeze varies, but seems to get shorter if I am running game also (BF 1942, for example). I have a Windows 98 and a SB Live! sound card and it seems that TS may have a problem with these cards. Does anyone know this to be a fact and in any case does anyone know what can be causing this problem. :confused:

Most surely a driver problem. Here a list of the one known to cause problems. You use win98SE (not win98) ? Ts is only supported on win98SE.

- USB problems (unplug all USB devices if you have any)
- sound drivers
- grafic drivers (directX)

having updated thees drivers and updated the win98 system as well ?

Appreciate the response. Since posting I have upgraded from Win98SE to XP. Now I get a message when I start TS2 client that says 'TDSoundOut.OPen(DirectSoundCreate): No sound driver is available for use.' When I say OK the program comes up and when I check in Settings, Options, Sound Devices it shows my sound card for both input and output.
