I just downloaded TeamSpeak last night to try it out and so far I really like it (had my clan using Ventrilo before, but I think I'll be switching them over ;) ), but I have a couple quick questions.

1) What is the purpose of the Channel Commander option? Does it provide any functionality whatsoever?

2) I made a bind to mute/unmute my mic, and I definitely prefer to have some type of audio feedback when it's used, but I don't necessarily want the notification to be the default speech. I tried changing these sounds in the TS options, but I keep getting the error message "illegal fmt header size" regardless of what .wav file I point these sounds to if it's not one of the default TS sounds. Anyone know what this error means and what I can do to correct it? I compared the properties of the files I'm trying to use to those of the default files and the formats are the same aside from minor differences in the bit and sample rates, in fact, one of the files I tried to use had identical bit/sample rates and still gave me the error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

i'm sry but i can only give you an answer to the first question...i'm pretty sure the answer i have for the second problem would be wrong...no channel commander does nothing except change your icon from green to red... but for the problem the thing i do for my mic is that i have my mic set on voice activation but i have a button bound to mute the mic if need be...not sure about the audio feedback though...sry...

Heh, thanks for tryin', EnFission, but I think you misunderstood my question. By audio feedback, I just mean some type of sound to let me know when I've used the bind (ie, the default sound is the computer voice "microphone muted" or "microphone activated"). I simply want to use different sounds for those functions, but I get "illegal fmt header size" errors when I try.

like i said doesn't really give anything... you can do private messages anyways...if they are the leaders i'm assuming they at least have registered powers which you can configure to be a full fledge admin to just about nothing... and thats what private messages is for.

Actually, there is a reason why channel commander is there. Say you are playing a game such as Americas Army. Well if you have 2 squads, each in different channels and u have channel commander on, and someone in the other channel has it on, you can chat to each other without even being in the same channel. (You can bind the button in the key settings). Basically Channel commander has their own "Frequency". And they can chat to each other without anyone else that isn't channel commander hearing. Hope this makes sense and helps.
