How come it's so easy for people to take control of other peoples' servers? Tonight, we had ours taken over by someone we've never heard of, and I have friends who've had the same thing happen to them. It's like random people can pull your TeamSpeak off of a public list, join it, take it over, move on and repeat.
Are these problems something that the TeamSpeak developers can fix?
Please, clue me in so I can get this hijacking stuff to stop.
Please, clue us in. How did the hijacker proceed?

I don't know how he proceeded, exactly. I was playing a game, and one of my buddies in game told me to unban his IP. So I alt+tabbed, looked at TeamSpeak, and I was banned as well. He and I were the only SAs on there. Another friend, who had no admin rights, was telling me that anyone who wasn't an admin was allowed to stay and hear this hacker's diatribe and boast about how he "owned this TS now."
No one knows who he is or how he did it, just that he got on and started banning admins and changing/deleting room names.
I'm curious about how he did it, but moreso about how it can be prevented, and if it's a flaw in the software itself that allows these people to gain the power to do this stuff.
Hey,
have you read the FAQ on the topic? Note that you should always read up on that kind of stuff before posting topics that are answered already. Today is my friendly day so here is the direct link: http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=10806
This is very little information. Could've been anything, from social engineering to weak passwords or even a real exploitable vulnerability. Who knows?
