 Hi there, I'm not so new to Teamspeak. I'm also not very knoledgeable about it either tho. I'm reading through the boards but nothing I have found really answered my problem which is as follows:
I can hear people, But they can't hear me.
They use to be able to! TS always worked fine for me till recently. I use yahoo messenger (Voice), However TS never interfeared with that. So just as a test I kept it shut off while I am trying to fix this.
I have tryed the following steps:
Checking to see if my Voice Send method works. It does.
When I press it my name lights up Green as if I am transmitting.
I have contacted my Channel Owner and Administrator and WE did the following :
Looked at the Options tab and Made sure it was Direct Sound that was checked. It was. However I have used both and they both worked. I am currently using Avance AC97 Audio, Primary Sound Capture Driver is aldo there adn I have tryed them both. They both at one time worked.
Under "Sound Input/Output Settings. Me asked me if my Outvolume was set to normal (howvere I always thought this was the sound of the people speaking) But never-the-less it is set to normal. My Test Codec is Celp 5.1 I have tryed 6.3 also (dont know what they do).
I have tryed Complete UN-installs and RE-Installs. However the Information (server IP, User name etc ect) never leave... Do i have to delete the registry entry? Or is that cookies?
Think anyone can help?
P.S. My mic works with ALL other voice capabilty programs. Just not TS.

Dear Kevin18014
I am new to Teamspeak as well.
I have a similar problem to you. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. I get a brrrrt noise when I activate press to talk.
I have the same as you:
AC97 Audio sound card
Primary Sound Capture Driver
Codec Celp 5.1
I have tested the microphone and headset. They're OK.
I have allowed an "exception" for Teamspeak to operate through Windows XP firewall.
I'm afraid I do not know what to do next. I'm at the end of my testing knowledge.
I hope someone can assist me as well as you.
Regards, donedison
Kevin, have you tried reading the FAQs? Also have you made sure you selected the reight input source within windows?
Can you hear yourself in the test mode, yes or no?
I have allowed an "exception" for Teamspeak to operate through Windows XP firewall.
Try fully disabling the Windows XP Firewall. It's been known to block too much packets, even if you "allow" the application.

Well, I don't quite understand what you mean about hearing myself in test mode. When I activate it, when I press to transmit, It shows I am transmitting yes, however it also does this in regular channels, No one can hear me tho.
I have read the FAQ's yes. The only thing that really helped me is by saying the Technical Support is in the message boards.
I do not use my Windows XP firewall, I use ZoneALarm. I have tryed ti Enabled and Disabled however i have allowed TS to go through my firewall. I also for the heck of it, Port Forwarded it, even tho I am not running the server. Still nothing.

Dear SG_01 and Kevin18014
Thank you SG_01 for your response. I have had no luck at all. Tried this and tried that to no avail.
Next step is a visit to my Internet Service Provider to see if there is a problem at the provider's end. I hope to speak to their technicians within the next few days. Maybe they can shed some light on this situation and if anything comes out of it advantageously, I shall communicate to you further. It has to be resolved.

Dear Kevin 18014
I hope by now you have solved your specific problem. This is how I solved mine.
I did not contact my ISP and technician as I was going to, because I persisted myself to find a solution and to contact the Virtual Airline Administrator. He was very helpful. This is what I found. Teamspeak wasn't the problem nor the computer set-up. Lack of procedure detail for new members to join the virtual airline resulted in misunderstanding on my part.
I am pleased to say that I am at long last able to communicate through Teamspeak satisfactorily.
Regards, donedison
Donedison,
I am having the exact same problem as Kevin. I'm sure that both of us would benefit from your fix. :)

Dear Smoke and Kevin
If your problem is the finer details of the set-up procedure, then the below information may assist you to communicate with other pilots. I emphasise it works for me, but my experience could help you.
Part of my problem was starting off on a wrong premise, a progression of errors, resulting in getting nowhere. I had to contact the airline administrator to get me back on track.
It was established from the outset that I needed to join an (1) airline, (2) I required a Server (in my case from WestcoastATC.com and (3) a communications system (Teamspeak). The main problem was establishing the interconnection details of these three units, and attending to the finer details required by the airline.
In my particular case, what I needed to do correctly was:
(1) apply to the airline of my choice to receive a call sign
(2) register with a Server (WestcoastATC)) using as the call sign given by the airline for “login” and create my own password
(3) Through WestcoastATC, “register” with the airline to receive the airline’s password for use in Teamspeak. At this stage it is important to join “Virtual Airlines” while in WestcoastATC, select chosen airline, and attend to the requirements to register
(4) The airline should then send you a password to use in Teamspeak. Check with airline what server address it uses in WestcoastATC.
(5) Go to Teamspeak and apply the above correctly
TEAMSPEAK
(1) Ensure the correct server address is selected that the airline uses.
(2) Under "Label", choose the correct server name the airline uses
(3) Under "Server address", enter the address of the server being used by the airline
(4) Under "Nickname", use the call sign given by the airline
(5) Check "Anonymous"
(6) Check "Auto-Reconnect"
(7) * Under "Default Channel", type in the name of the airline
(8) * Under "Channel Password", type in password given by the airline (usually in capitals)
(9) Connect
This procedure takes you direct into the airline channel. If steps marked with the asterisk are not done, then after “Connect” it will go direct into Member Lobby whereupon you can then elect to go into the airline channel, but a window should come up asking you for the airline password.
TEAMSPEAK - SETTINGS
Sound Input/Output Settings
Select “push to talk” mode
Output volume “normal”
Options
Sound Devices – select “Wave” if satisfactory for you
Set Sound Buffer size in the middle
Sound Notification
Check “Disable all sounds”
Bandwidth
as is
Other
Check “high” and “Warning”
Now that I have got everything up and running, I can use Multiplayer, and Chat to file a flight plan.
I hope this will assist you in some way.
Regards,
donedison
