Hello I just started getting an infection alert for the keypress.dll, I am assuming that it is still a false positive as was the last one a few months back. I am running avast anti-virus 4.5 and just recieved their latest updates when I was informed of the WS 32 Trojan-Other on my PC.

I just thought I'd warn you guys in hopes that there will be a fix as you did the last time...
I know that paranoia sets in when viruses are concerned and I myself know this file to be clean (I had a clan mate send me his clean dll and got the same warning) but I hate having a false positive on my machine (I'm not the only one that uses this PC my kids does)

Keep up the good work tho it's a beautiful program and much improved over the inital version.

WS 32 Trojan-Other
Is that the precise description that the virus scanner gave you?

Brain, I also just received a virus alert from Avast 4.5 for the keypress.dll. The exact virus name is, Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}. Is there any need to worry, or is this just the same false positives the other virus scanners were having earlier?

sounds like your anti v is a few months behind the other companies that picked this up too , I would send your info to your a-v company and inform them this is apart of a app and is not a virus , you could get a new update from them that does not detect the keypress . send them a link to the dl page and info on what it's picking up from Teamspeak as well as the copy of the file on your hd . let them test it for them selves . it will get remove from the list of virus hits on there end after it is tested

Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}
I read that as "Trojan, generic (other)" and it looks like it is generated by a heuristic scan, otherwise you would get a very exact description.
It seems that Avast deems any program that uses system hooks to get keypresses as a trojan. I'm 5-9 (= 99.999%) convinced this is a bogus report, especially since the Teamspeak Client in its current version has been around for two years or so.

Thank you both, m&m and Brain. I did send the report to Avast. Hopefully they'll get this removed soon. I really appreciate your prompt help and replies :)

Under "Program Settings", and "Exclusions", you can tell aVast to ignore scanning this file. I had to reinstall TS2 acouple of times to get the keypress.dll to stick but now TS2 is working fine.
