View Full Version : New Teamspeak Hack
Recently somebody came up with a hack that prevents admins from banning. They come in and spam the crap out of the server.Every time we try to ban these hackers,it just says "player ID does not exist".Typing in their IP does no good, since their IP keeps changing as well!I assume because they're all fake.I expierienced this on another ts server,so I know they've been hitting random ts servers, and so far there's no way to stop them other than passwording our server, which is a shame that some idiots have to ruin it for everybody else!So if anybody from ts is reading this,I hope you can come up with a way to stop this soon!If anybody else had to put up with these hackers, please let the ts people know about it.
Thx,
Rimshot
there's "no way" to stop people behind dynamic IP exept for setting up a server password or banning a whole IP range (that's posted in the forum in several threads).
If you need to have an open server, you have to live with such people :(
It's a shame these idiots got nothing better to do than harass other people!! :(
did you never get/got spam mails from the nigeria connection, or viagra connection,...
In the world and especially the virtual world (www) not all people are working for the good of the others.

It needs a unique identifier created for an installationof the program which doesnt change from installation to installation.
There are lots of ways this could be done but none are really secure against a programmer. Microsoft use the "harvest" the hardware ID's technique then authenticate it to produce a certificate method. Perhaps a two part key could be employed with the server to produce a UID or take the MAC address and send it to the server on log on.
I guess it depends how far the TS programmer(s) want to go to make TS a secure system. Is the hastle of coding it, having it hacked then changing it to stop that hack cycle, somthing that the guys want to get into? After all until there is a system of "Once written never altered" coding, anything programmed can be reprogrammed.
