this is my first time using teamspeak, ive set the server up, and i connected through the client and it worked, but seems nobody else can connect, the error message recieved and shown to me by one of the people was

21:13:47] Connecting to 169.254.137.206
[21:13:50] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

any ideas what the problem might be?

you state "im using windows xp, and i use firewall, but im not using a router"

there is a firewall in xp that gets turned on with sp2 , is there allso a second firewall app you use like nortons internet security , zap , black ice ?
does your modem have any router propertys in it ?

well, IP addresses that arent behind a router dont usually start with a number over 100. Usually it starts with a number 2-8, like 24.XX.XXX.XXX or 67.XX.XXX.XXX something to that order...are you POSITIVE your not behind a router, because if your not and you have nothing impeding the flow of packets to your server, than I see no reason that you should be abel to connect. Try http://checkip.dyndns.org/ and see if it returns the same IP that your connecting to.
