I have looked every where and could not find my problem. I would like to know if it is possible to load the teamspeak server when I turn on my computer?
drop a copy of your ts desk top icon in your start up folder , each time you restart pc anything in that folder will start up
which one of these is the start up folder to do that because they are all labled startup
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\HelpAssistant\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
which one of these is the start up folder to do that because they are all labled startup
1. C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
2. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
3. C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
4. C:\Documents and Settings\HelpAssistant\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
5. C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
there all the same thing BUT
1. is for the \administrator\ and you have to be loged in as admin to use it or see it
2. is for \all users\ and no matter who logs in it is accessable for them so if you wanted a app to start for anyone load it hear
3. \Default User\ is i beleave if you bypass login so the computer starts up and no login or password is needed
4. \HelpAssistant\ i have no clue must be a xp thing ?
5. C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\ looks like it loads it so any time to start your system in a selected profile , mybe the profile your in if no other profiles have been made ! the system starts your apps loaded to it's folder
so depending on how many users , use your pc and how it gets loged into so whare you should dropo the icon I.E. if your the only user and log in as admin 100% of the time use #1. if you share your pc i would say use #2.
you could test #5. to see how it works and log in to a user names and see if TS loads in all of them as a added app to your system profile i had mine loaded in the admin startup and i only use that log in
You could also try putting it in your registry to run at startup if you feel up to it.
Warning: If you change sertain things in the registery you can effectively make your computer un-opperational or cause other side effects. Also there is no undo button in it.
Now that we have the nececery warning, here's what you should do to add it...
First get the shortcut and find what it starts using the properties. Leave this open or write it down...
Now start the registery editor, to do this, head to start, click Run..., type in regedit and click ok.
You must now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run using the right panel.
Make sure to select run, and right click on an empty space in the right panel and select new, string value. Name it something obvious like Teamspeak Server. After you've done this doubleclick on the name you created and fill in the path you got at the beginning.
You can now close the registry.
This should start things at boot time, but I'm not 100% sure about that. If it doesn't start at boot time, it will start when you log in.
Finaly, if you really feel up to making stuff, you can try making a service for windows, but this would require programming knowledge ;)
