Unreal Tournament No sound effects with TS

When i plug in my USB headset (mic and headphones) everything works fine. Music, and i always hear everyone on TS clearly.

If i restart computer, load TS, then UT. I can hear people use there guns, and music in background. Then the sound effects (gun shooting, not music) usually gets chopy after that. like i hear little bits of the guns, and it starts to sound like the matrix.

I've reinstalled, i've messed with settings, i've tried new codec. Still it only does it with my head set. Its only the sound effects of UT, not the music.

Other software similiar to TS like vintrillo work fine.

have you tryed changing between wave and direct sound in the settings tab /options ?

im going to edit this with all the stuff i've done right now.

I've tried increasing, decreasing input, and output volumes, i've tried different codecs.

I've tried lower, middle, high quality (latency) ive tried Wave and direct sound.

I even clicked the recording thing? see if that did something. It didnt so i kept it unchecked.

I've reinstalled TS, i installed some codec someone mentioned somewhere else, hopeing that was the problem.

I've restarted (as i said it only works first time i open UT and TS from a fresh restart, then usually the sound deteriates)

It sounds fine if i turn on old mycrophone which isnt USB, and my 4.1 speakers. But i just bought expensive head set, and the reason why is to use it for UT lol.

I tried messing with my speaker settings from 4 to 2 speakers, wav balance.

Like i said, ventrillio works fine, but when using teamspeak (and team speak only) it will play the background music of UT, but the sounds effects will either

A.) Not play at all
B.) be very choppy like matrix

I also messed with UT's sound prefrences.

I turned off music totaly, and left sound effects on, that did nothing.

Hrmm, sounds like UT and TS don't like eachother somehow... Possibly something to do with them both sending out wave type sound.

Which version of UT are you running? If you have the latest official patch, then try the latest unofficial one, vice versa, see if that helps.

Also, have you noticed this in any other games?

Its UnrealTournament GOTY 99

does not happen in any other games...

only the sound EFFECTS in UT... the level music plays fine.

Right now i set it up so

sounds come from 4.1's and i talk in mic in headset, but that is annoying... and i cant play like that so i havnt used mic in a few days.

waisted money on the head set, god damn....

i built a computer, it doesnt like my normal Mic's b/c u gotta yell into them, now i finally after 5 yrs i get a mic that works, it wont work with the only game I play. :(
