I have created a mysql 4 database with all the tables required in it and uploaded the files to my web servers ftp.

I now have two problems in the download i got from www.goteamspeak.com there is no server.ini file so i cant point ts at the mysql database.

And i have no idea how to run the server. I'm a student and dont want to travel home to start it/stop it/restart it.

Is there any way to do it using Internet explorer or the like????

Thanx ppl

1) have you read the FAQ thread about "TS on a web space" ?
You need a shell access to manage (run/stop/restart) the server. Browser access is not a shell !

2) The server.ini is created after the first start of the server. And maybe it's not in the TS folder itself => do a search for it (find, slocate,...)

3) have you noticed the sticky Linux guides in the forum ? If not, you should read them

What flavor of Linux are you running? If you have a fedora core you should easily be able to remotely administrate (access through the internet) the terminal (Linux's command prompt". This is done by using ssh (im not going to go into depth). Use a free tool called putty to access your computer over the internet.

http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe

Just type in your ip address (find it at www.whatismyip.com) at the top where it says "Host Name" and click open. Log in and your good to go. Unless.............you have a router. ;) If you have a router then you will need to let port 22 go through to the internet (port 22 through 22). If you need to know how to do this go to your products website and look for "Port Fowarding". While you are opening the port 22 open the other following ports 22, 14534, and 8767.

Now the manual to TS is REALLY OLD so ill tell you how to start/stop/restart the server. To start it you will need to go to the folder in witch the program is in through the terminal (if you have redhat you can access it by right clicking on the desktop and selecting open terminal). Then type

./teamspeak2-server_startscript

to start it add a start to the end

./teamspeak2-server_startscript start

to stop it add a stop to the end to restart it add a restart to the end.
Now to access the configuration webpage type in your ip address into a web browser (internet explorer, netscape, firefox). with a :14534 at the end.

http://yourip:14534/slogin.html

A website should come up showing a login page. Type in your login info found in the server.log file ( i ran into a problem where it would not let me open the server.log file so i changed it to server.txt opened it got the password and changed it back to server.log)

Log in as superadmin with the password in server.log. Now you are on your own from here. You may connect to your server through the client with..

yourip:8767

Don’t change the "Server UDP Port" from 8767 or the clients wont be able to connect!

I hope I was a help for you. If you have any questions email me at

Thanks for the guide BTW

I am SURE that my server is started

I typed in: ./teamspeak2-server_startscript restart

And then it said: stopping the teamspeak2 server...done
starting the teamspeak2 server
TeamSpeak Server Daemon started with PID 23508

SO I KNOW IT IS ON!

So now I have it hosted on my domain http://www.aa-25thID.com

So I enter in my site's shared Ip address (I got the Shared Ip for Cpanel) which is 69.65.19.218

I go to: http://69.65.19.218:14534/slogin.html

And I get a page cannot be found

HELP!
