For some reason we can only ban a maximum of 20 people
we had a visit from the Go0o0o0ons today and were unable to ban them

is there a setting to change this or is there something wrong

any help on this would be great thanks

no, it's a limitation of the TS2 protocoll so nothing on'e could patch easily. What you can do is banning by wildcards => banning of whole IP ranges
or
you use your firewall and ban IP's there.

In my opinion you should not use bans when ever possible, set a TS srver password this way you have no unwanted guests.

Is there any possible way you can make a mod or something that can expand the ban list so we can ban more than just 20 people, i know you said try not to ban and put a pass on, but we have a public ts and we need to ban people who abuse it :)

so i'm just wondering would it be possible to do such a thing?

TS2 will not be further developpend and as said, to my knowledge it's a protocoll problem so without changingthe protocoll which renders your TS server incompatible to all clients.... I highly guess: no

What you can do is to ban IP's on your preliminary firewall.

How do I do that?

To ban a range of IP's for eg....

123.123.12.122 <-- specific IP
123.123.12.* <-- any IP that uses these first 3 sets of numbers.

OR... If you can't ban in TS, then add to your servers IP Tables or something.

Small note by Guldi: "IP tables" is the "Linux" Kernel implementation of a packet filter / firewall. What he meant is add it into your firewall if you've used up all 20 ban slots in TS
