Hi,
I host a TS server on a XPSP2 and 3 friends and me, so 4 ppl, use my server.

Regurlarly, one, two or everyone (including me) get disconnected from the server and a few seconds after, the client reconnect automatically.
This happens 2 or 3 times per hours and it's quite annoying...

I could understand why everyone except me, connecting locally, would be disconnected, since timeout can occur on internet. But why me, since I'm connecting locally...

Are there timeout settings in the server or the client ? (I couldn't find any)

Oh, I'm playing World of warcraft, and a friend told me he never had this problem with another game.

Thanks for any info.

best regards

is the client and server on same pc ?

firewall apps got ts allowed ? xp with sp2 has a "firewall" <- junk but it's there

is there a router on your home network , server on one pc and client on a second ? if so make sure router has the latest firmware installed , if your getting disconnected from your own server and your using 2 pc's it's got to be your router doing it !

Yes, for me, my friends are somewhere in the world :)

yes.
I know it's junk, but with or without, same deal. random disconnexions

Nope, no router (got a DSL modem, but it's not a router).
But this evening, I'm trying 127.0.0.1 instead of my public IP, i'll see if I get disconnected...

I'll keep posting update.

Thanks

Alright, I did try to connect with my local IP, and I disabled my Firewall... No improvement, I still get some "Link disengaged.... link engaged..." every now and then.

Is there any way to setup a timeout, or have somme trace to see why there are these disconnexions ?

and how on earth can I get a timeout locally?
