Using TS on a LAN

Hello all..

My friends and I have set up a 3 station LAN and wondered how we could set up TS on it.

I have TS Server, but wondered if I still needed to connect to the net, as my friends house doesn't have a phone line.

I have a fair understanding of the client program, but not the server.

Genesis... so you have 3 computers all connected via a LAN setup and now you want to get TS running on all 3? If this is correct, simply install the TS server software on one of the machines and then use the LAN address to connect instead of the external IP... should be no problems.

Question though... if you have 3 people on a LAN why would you need TS? Everyone in different rooms!?

girl friends PC is in different room so we use (sometimes) TS even for local games ;)

no fair, i know im out of topic but how do you'll get your girlfriends to play computer games? i can never succeed at this...

no idea, she just like to play PC games (nfs, sims, even wc3 she played quite good and currently she plays wow).

most women don't like FPS but get them in a wizards type / fantasy game you may spark some interest then work on the FPS latter lol ... as they like the playing online you add different games in the mix :D they got to start some place and they wont at all if you try to shove a FPS on them it's to "butch" or gory / violent of a game for most women to like . not all woman are the same but I bet you find more "tom" boys play FPS then non per capata or at least were a tom boy at some time growing up . but I could be wrong because I am a guy and we don't know sh*t when it comes to women lol but some of us do try hard :)

ufff... 38 ? So I still have 10 years left to encourage my woman for FPS. However, I'm not positive she will ever like them. Any more hints on this ?

find a FPS with coop mode like raven shield rainbow six 3 it is a max of 8 players working together to take out the tangos , it has bombs , nerve agent , bug the pc & phones , hostages ,or you can just kill tango with no extra mission added . as in game seneros you can set it up and play on your lan if she likes playing the game with you , add a few players for the net , then change it your team against another team in adver mode . but you have to take it slow get her knowing the maps , and how the game plays befor you switch it up , there are 3 game play modes eazy , vetran & eliet. the eliet tangos have insain shooting skills and would not be wise to play at that skill level , as it is not that fun to die fast !! even on vetren there are a few tangos that shoot very well , after time you know witch 1's to toss smoke out for to keep from getting shot the second yo peek you head out lol

raven shield 4 is due out in late june ? early july ? been a while sence i looked up the release date but last word out was around that time . could be a good game to get her to play . and will be a new game so you would have time to get her intreated in it and play while there are still a intrest in the game around the world , you know how the old games drop off when a newer version comes out .

Thanks to CdnBacon.. and to all for the replies. Yes we are in different rooms, 1 upstairs, 1 in the front room downstairs and 1 in the back room, and we plan to use headsets.

I will check the manual and also the links given in the replies.
