can i get hacked?

I was thinking of makeing a teamspeak for my clan since ours got hacked and i cant get the superadmin. but anyways, i was woudering becuase im giveing ppl my ip address can i get hacked? :confused:

make sure you keep the amount of (SA)'s down and use strong/long passwords 4hb&@ndi876 useing non-realwords helps

yes you CAN run a ts server from your pc .

how many members are in your clan ? you can get a server the size you need and have a few members chip in to help pay , if your gaming and runing ts server from your pc you need a good internet connection ! or ts and your game you play may lag

There is always the chance of your computer/server being hacked... this is something only YOU can control. Make sure you have ALL the latest OS updates, software updates, etc running on your machine.

if some one wants in bad enuff yes !! even if your behind a router and are running securtiy programs a real "hacker" could get in but a real hacker would not waste his time on your small home pc , most of what happens on ts is , admins getting tricked in to handing out (SA) to someone asking for a right click and hit E , this is the short cut key combo to granting (SA) , a second later the real (SA) gets banned and the server is taken over ,this IS NOT HACKING , but being tricked ... a super admin can log into the web admin and deleat the bad users account and retake his server

since you do not have much understanding of IP, networks,.... I'd suggest you inform yourself a little bit before setting up a server: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_address

Appart from knowing the "E trick" (m&m described), you really should know a bit more about networks. Knowledge is the best key to prevent people from taking over your server. This as wells includes the knowledge about "how to create strong passwords" as wel las keeping the admins to a very limited amount of people... we had enough threads about "so called friends hacked my server".
