I was wondering if there is a way to have the sound from my game, World Of Warcraft, come through my speakers ( Logitech Z-680 ) while having ONLY TS sound coming through my headset (Logitech Headset)? I have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 SoundCard and a Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra MotherBoard. It would make things alot easier, but I am just not sure if it can be done

if the head set is usb i think you can select it in ts settings tab / options / sound device --- input output devices

also you can select your good sound card for your games and your onboard sound card for ts . as this is my set up and i know it works

Unfortunately my headset is a headset that uses the pink chord and a black chord ( sorry i dont know the correct names ), do you think it can still be done?

Woot someone with an answer

Ok so here we have at my computer a built in sound card. with 5.1 speaker system. Problem get sound out of 2 programs at 1 time in 2 different speaker sets, game speakers/headset for TS.

Here is what i did. I had an old Creative sound blaster PCI card laying around the house(cost about 10$ now more that likely). At any rate i installed the SB and plugged in my headset to it. TS would only work with my primary sound card, which is on board) so i plugged my mic and game speakers into that.

It works great... TS sound comes through the SB and game comes though the C-media onboard sound.

M&M you stated: you can select your good sound card for your games and your onboard sound card for ts . as this is my set up and i know it works

I have tried this and it does not work -- Both my onboard sound And my Sound Card have slots for mic/speakers -- but when I try to use my Mic/headset with my onboard it produces nothing -- is there a setting somewhere that I need to set or is my Sound Card overridding my On Board sound?

I should note that my Mic/Headset also has the Pink and Green jacks.

I have it set up currently with my Mic into my Sound Card and my headset into my Headset jack on my main speakers -- I want to seperate the 2 so my Game sound still goes to my Surround Sound and my TS comes through my Headset.

Please Advise
TY

you have to select in the game options witch sound card you want , most times it will select the pci sloted card over a onboard card !

for teamspeak you have to go to the settings tab / options / sound device / select the C-Media wave device or primary sound driver for both your in put and out put save with ok ! NOW with that said you may have to one firs then the other i use the C-Media my self for my onboard sound both work but the c-media souns better , you may have to go to your operating system sound mixer to make small ajustments etc
see this post if you dont know how to find mixer or ajust it http://www.teamspeaktalk.com/showthread.php?t=119

YES i know this works i run 10 speakers on my pc

I can't get this to work. When I go to Settings/Options/Sound Devices... I can only talk with Wave checked. And with that checked, the only options I have in Device is SB Live! Audio [E000] for both input and output. With Direct Sound I have SB Live! Audio [E000] and Primary Sound Capture Driver for input and SB Live! Audio [E000] and Primary Sound Driver for output. Am I missing something? The microphone will only work in the sound card and not the onboard. Any other tips?

That really doesn't help either because in Mixer Settings, all I have to choose from is SB Live! Audio.

in the mixer you should have a drop down that should have your onboard sound and your pci sloted sound card in it , from there you can check or un-check any mixer setting

I don't have an option for on-board sound in the drop down box.

Me either and it's driving me NUTS!

Can anyone assist with how to enable the onboard sound card so I can use it for TS and use my main speakers for my gaming?
Im pretty sure they are both Creative cards but my "good one" is the Audigy2.

Thanks!

Ok that helps me identify the fact that I only have ONE sound card listed in my sounds... I tried d/l the drivers for the onboard card but it didn't help.
here is my screenshot:

sound properties (http://www.imagehosting.us/imagehosting/showimg.jpg/?id=477943)
(As you can see I do NOT have use default devices checked!)

I am TOTALLY lost here as to how to make the dern thing work!

Thats probably what happened, or more likely, the person who put in the audigy deliberatly disabled it. what Im wondering is,

How do I get it back?
I haven't really messed with the system bios as I never wanted to mess things up, Maybe you could walk me thru checking to see if that is the case (it's disabled) and if so how to re-enable it?

who installed your card ? can you ask them . if you paid for the card and install , take it back to the store or call there repair center and ask for help from a tech ...

in the owners manual of the mother board are the instruction on what and where any setting are at , all mother boards differ in some way what is whare and how to make changes ,

Ok... maybe they can give me a fast rundown and I can do it here rather than taking it back to them...

Thanks!

The good news...
We have success in re-enabling my onboard sound card!

The bad news...
With hubby's system, there is no option to enable it, it's either auto, in which case the better soundcard take precedence or disabled in which case it's not going to work any way :(

Know any workarounds that we could use or is he stuck hearing EVERYTHING through his main(or headphone) speakers?
