Hi there.

I'm a bit of a Noob really, but I am techy enough to be able to run my own TS Linux server.

I have a TS server running correctly, but have the "some users can't connect from WAN" problem. I have read the FAQs and tried setting the BoundToIp1 option as suggested. For some reason this doesn't work. I get:

... an other application is using the tcpquery port ...

There is DEFINITELY no other TS instance running. I am using Fedora Core 3.

The server works fine without the bound IP setting. I don't know how to find out what other applications may be using the tcpquery port. If anyone can point me in a direction where I can find more information, I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.

A.

tested this shortly on my Gentoo system but can't reproduce your problem. Can you post/attach your server.ini file here ?

Played about with the machine for a while and discovered the problem.

DOH!

I was setting the wrong IP address. No wonder it couldn't use the port, it didn't exist.

HOWEVER

There a people that STILL can't connect to the server. They have the latest version of the client and can connect to other servers. I also have people that can connect successfully to my server. Where should I be looking for the problem?

My firewall is set up correctly - people can connect
The server is working - people can talk
The client and server versions are correct - I checked that
The people with problems can connect to other servers - I have talked to them on other servers

SO WHERE IS THE PROBLEM? ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH! (If I wasn't already bald, I would be tearing my hair out!) :)

Any help appreciated,

A.

Why don't you open the FAQ (see my sig) and check there ?
A thread dealing with this problem exists.
