USB Headsets

Has anyone used a USB headset and microphone with TeamSpeak yet? I am thinking of getting the plantronics DPS series headset, but it apparently doesnt use the soundcard at all. I just wondered if it worked with teamspeak before I spend my hard earned cash on it.

I've used a DSP 500 for quite some time. Probably the best computer headset I ever used...
As you're using Windows, you shouldn't have any problems at all. You just have to choose the headset as in- and output device.

Setting it up under Linux may be a bit tricky but not impossible.

BTW: Search for a store which allows you to give the headset back if it doesn't work or if you don't like it (very unlikely).

I have a Plantronics DSP 500 too and i never had a problem with it..... I bought it over the internet because it is cheaper....but it is still expensive......

Thanks for the replies, I have been on pins and needles whether to buy them. I think ill go ahead and check it out. The main reason, is Id like to keep my speakers playing music, and my headphones for gaming if possible. This sounds like Ill be able to do that with these.

Well, you can do this. Simply unplug the headset and the pc uses the speakers, replug the headset and automatically it is used (depends on your settings for preferred audio hardware).

Using a DSP 500 set here - No Problems. They work great.

Used them so much they boke - sent them into Plantronics for work, got back a new pair in 4 days. No Charge.

Highly recommended.
