I saw the other thread on this same issue, but looking at my log, it appears to be a different issue:

19-11-02 11:59:52,18234,ERROR,All,TOSSioThread.Initialize,E xception EOSSException: OSS error in OpenSoundDevice-fullduplex (/dev/dsp): Input/output error

I have kernel 2.4.18 and playing/recording sound works fine elsewhere. Card is an SBLive.

Anyway to make it not try and do full duplex mode?

same goes for me, on 2 totally different machines btw.

first machine:
sony vaio srx51p running slackware 8.1
sound: intel i810
(windows XP installed parallel, all works fine)

second:
also running slack 8.1
some old soundblaster card

If you cant unmute input it means ts was unable to open your microphone in full duplex mode

since it works with windows, the error is somewhere insinde linux. kay, but this was very helpful, i think google will tell me the rest :)

thanks so far,
flo

btw: your server (linux, waah, windows is not designed for servers :) works just fine! great job! :)

Hi, why do i need fullduplex? i can't change the soundcard(laptop). why isn't there an option to override the duplex-check?
i've a PTT - Key for speaking, but it's not neccessary to hear other people while i'm speaking.

dear developer:
please implement an option to override this check
