I have my own webhost. It's a linux server. I was wondering how I would go about installing TS on a webhost. All I have is FTP and I am not sure if I need anything else. Could someone please help me?

Can you telnet to the server?
Do you have root access to it?
ftp the linux server installer up to the server and follow the server installation guide.

I know how to use Telnet but everytime I try to connect it doesn't want to connect. I used PUTTY TElnet SHH Client but it said I didn't have Shell access to the server. I uploaded all the files...And I looked at the installation guide...But I can't figure out how to run the server. I even made a nice little PHP script that ran the file via a system command. And it STILL doesn't want to start.
I have a few questions...
Do I need Shell access?
Do I need to open the ports manually?

You will need shell access to run the installer and to get TS set up as a service.
pls read the FAQ BEFORE you post, clear instruction is given (FTP is NOT enough, you need a shell access !!!)
