I have Game Theater XP also. It was one of the best investments I have made for my computer. This is one of the best soundcard out on the market right now. It rocks! Sound Blaster is a piece of crap in comparison to Game Theater!

Yeah, I have to say the Win2K 'squeal of death' finally cinched it for me. I love this little box, and it works right out of it :D

 I'd have to agree that Game Theater does kick some major @$$, but for some reason it stopped working with TS2 for me. I get this very very nasty feedback whenever I attempt to talk when in TS2. Sound output is flawless and always has been it seems...

Sounds like an over-gain situation. Is your +20db box checked on the GT mixer? If so, you may not need that much. Try unchecking the box and moving the slider up. Having a higher output from the microphone over bringing up it's sensitivity may be your answer. The +20db box is gain (pre processing), and the slider is level (post processing).

That can't be it, I've seriously tried like everything. Whatever it was, well it isn't now. Mysteriously works for some reason out of the blue. Problem went away just as oddly as it came...

Thnx for the help anyways :)

I got the 6.1 and I'm running Win2k.
I am very happy with this card and I agree with the rest of you, it's not that SB crap.
The headphone autodetection is just great, easy to switch between 5.1 speakers and the headset.
However I noticed that TS2 sort of locks it in headphone mode if I'm connected to a server and unplug the headset.
It's no big thing tho, just plug them in and out again after yuo've shut down TS2.

This might not be the right place to add this but since I've got a couple of people with the same card I thought I'd give it a shot.
Does anyone have the problem with 3D positional sounds being quite faint with HW acc. enabled in some games?

Some sounds that are played "at the player" so to speak are heard well but if someone is talking close by I might have a hard time hearing them etc.

No, can't say I've ever had that problem. Hardware acceleration and 3d audio are flaky at best in ANY sound card I've experienced, though.

How's the Hercules Muse? Is that close to the quality of the Gametheater?
Are there any known issues with that card and TS2?

No, I believe the Muse is their BOTTOM-end card.
