Some of my friends have this problem, their TS does not work while in CS:Source after a while of play. The mic's just go to full static and it is extremely annoying. Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

are they trying to use the ccs ingame chat at the same time as teamspeak ?

Well, they have the activation set to 2 different keys, so they can both chats. Is this what causes the problem? I mean, I also have it the same way, and nothing bad happens.

One solution would be to stop cheating and only use the in-game voicecom. :D

haha, well, its not cheating, because cal.cfg does not allow spectators etc. The main reason we use it is because TS gives a much better sound quality, and its just overall much better than ingame chat.

turn off the ingame for a test see if it clears up

Here is what I found, with an Nforce4 motherboard setup.

If I am using a Creative Labs soundcard, sound will not work correctly in both CS:S and Teamspeak. It will only work correctly for whichever program was started first.

If using the onboard sound on my nforce4 motherboard, it will work fine, regardless of which order the programs have been started in.

If anyone out there has a sound card that seems to allow both voice chat in CS:S and in Teamspeak to be used, please let me know. I want to upgrade from the onboard sound for quality, but I do not want to be hastled by this very annoying problem by doing so.

Right now my Audigy 2, is sitting in a drawer, because creative labs are trash and can't seem to write drivers to deal with 2 programs using the mic.

try switching your sound driver selection in the ts clients settings tab to wave or direct sound so the game and ts are not useing the same driver
