Mic problems

I went out and bought a mic so I could speak to people on ts. Well I connected it and tested it out on the computer by going to properties, entertainment and such. Recorded my voice and it worked. Logged in on ts have it set as push L Shft to speak and in the server room I initially join the green light lights up. I join a room with people in it and nothing happens. I push L Shft and the light does not light up. I've checked my settings and can not figure out why it does that. I can hear people but they can't hear me. How can I fix this?

well try askin who's runnin the server if theres moderated check and if there is such that then they need to give u rights to talk by givin u voice or some times u can give it to your self by rite clickin on your name and go down to voice and click on that.
