View Full Version : quility seems not so good ?
I have setup all system and try to use different channel codec , But voice transmit seem not so smooth, maybe it lost some data packets.
Did I have to tune some setting or teamspeak quility is not ....
what you describe is not measurable so it's hard or even impossible to give any advice.
No, you do not have to tweak anything. Qualitiy is in my LAN and over the WAN quite good. Of course, if oyu have a bad connection (high ping or even packet loss) there's not much you can do apart form using a different connection.
PS: TS shows the packet loss, you might wanen read the manuals to see how to get this info

I got the best experience with speex 25.9. assumpting to have a least broadband connection.
To have no packetloss is important.
If a backround download is limiting the bandwidth the packetloss is increasing quickley, as itīs corrupting soundquality simultaenously.
Use good headsets, allthough the 5$ Headset work, my experience is, the 40$ HS work just better, even sensivity of mic is often better.

as your posting in the client fourms i will say you can't ajust a codec in the client , codecs are set in the server per channel . the best codec by far are the two GSM codec 14.8 & 16.4

one may argue about this statement ;) I personaly prefer the speex
try switching back and forth , the 25.9 sounds a tad grainy to me and the few that were in ts at the time we tested , had the same person talk . all in the channel said the GSM sounded better ...
all in the server had good cable connection no dsl or 56-k users

Interesting, M&Mīs , I still hear a kind of compression distortion and a lower bandwidth with GSM 16 , maybe cause Iīm a Hifi Fan.
But Ears are diffrent, thatīs for shure.
Thanks for your suggestion. After I choose code GSM 16k and Setting use lower latency(to the left most) , it seems sound better. :)
But if I want to increase the sensitivity, I have to let microfone very closer to my mouse.

WHAT ??? What has this to do with your mouse ?

Hi Guldi,
He likely meant "mouth** which would make more sense.
pb
I hope he meant that... but I also know a guy which uses a cheap low end quality head sets which he simply lay on the table close to the keyboard / mouse. No wonder we often hear him not too good and there's often some disturbing back ground noise.
