I have tried:

Router ports are open and server has been working great for 2weeks
Turned off all firewalls, restarted all systems
Tried many different codecs, it ran fine before even on highest codec

Running 6mb Comcast cable internet. I believe it is 512k upload,6mb down.

Internet connection is fast and great. I am running TS server on a clean AMD 1.67/512mb system through my LInksys Router. I connect to it via client on my game system. I have no more then 2 other people on it at a time and even just running one person I notice while playing Battlefield 2 I get this Extreme lag and choppiness in the voice to make it where I can't understand the person. When I check my in game ping through the games menu it shows sometimes normal ping while the choppiness is happening , other times my ping jumps from 15 to 50,200,300,400,700 when I hear the choppiness. I have tried lowering my codecs to the lowest setting during the game to where the voice quality is total garbage and the high ping still happens. I have disabled my Norton Client FIrewall as well that is running on the server machine. The machine that is running the server is stripped down with only AV/Firewall/AntiSpyware running, all its for is file/print sharing and now TS.

1.) What causes this extreme TS lag during my Battlefield2 gameplay which in turn causes Extreme ping to game server?

2.) I used to notice the choppy voices only during map loading, and for about 2weeks the server ran like that, ran great during game and choppy just during game loads, now its 50/50 regardless while gaming online with it, what do you think>?

Did I get it right?
You use the TS-server computer also for filesharing?

bf2 is also a resource hog , set ts to high priorty: it's in the settings tab / options / other / priority set to high and hit ok to save the change . then run a test to see if it helped . report back your findings . as bf2 runs on high ts may be fighting for cpu time and so to speak can't get a word in lol

Yes, its a basic XP Pro home file sharing system so I can store all my files on one system since I use 4 different computers in the home and work. It doesn't share over the net and its not being used when I am gaming except for TS.

I will try that tonight, but if it was just a CPU issue wouldn't my ping not get affected? Cause my PC has ping spikes when I get the voice lag 80% of the time. I will report back, I really hope I can get this to work since I have a good home connection and fast computers. I am running 2gbs of memory on each game system so as far as the client systems go, there shouldn't be a issue. I am thinking its my Comcast connection but a 6mb/512k up shouldn't be a issue especially if I lower Codecs to the lowest and sound like a robot. I will get back to you tonight. Thanks for your help, I really hope I can get this to work well.

m&m I think you were right. Scared to say its fixed since sure it will start right back as soon as I do. But for now thats all I changed, switched from normal to high priority and so far tonight I noticed NO skips or lag in the voice with all 3 of us on. NOrmally the lag would always show up during the map loading and it worked fine now. Thanks SOOO much for that tip. I also started using voice activation along with the other 2friends on it and man , how did we used to play online games without this. Finally with TS and Gamespy finding good servers and playing as a team is becoming easier to do. THANKS!!!!!!
