I posted the following on the General forum, but now I'm not so sure it was the right place to put it, I need help and this is really bothering me.

Hi! I was once able to use TS on my comp, I had a USB plugin heaset and it worked great, only know, it broke and I went out to get a new one. Only the stores had no USB plugin headsets so I instead got the one that had the earphones and the mic plug in separately.

Here's the problem, I can hear my friends on TS, but they can't hear me. I've messed around with all parts of my computer and still have found no real answer... So here's my theory:

There are two lines, one going in, and one going out, that is if they're configured propperly. When working right, the line going in goes to my headset, and the one going out is coming from my mic. Only with things as they are right now, what's happening is that the line going from my mic doesn't get out and just circles back into a closed circuit. The line coming in goes through my phones, but is put right back out into everyone so they hear themselves echo back at them and comes right back to me and out again.

So, in simplifacation:
1. No one can hear me when I speak
2. When others speak, they get what they say echoed right back at them as if I'm saying it.
3. I'm not using my USB port, I'm using my mic and headphone plugins

How do I fix this?

XOXOXO

I'm using TS2

Windows 2000 Pro

Not sure what kind of soundcard I have, pretty generic though

No clue what you mean by Game (but i play EverQuest 2, that's not affiliated with you gulys)

DirectX Version 8.1

No error message recieved

This happens all the time

I've read the FaQ's and nothing on there helped, I've tried to fiddle around with the Settings on my soundcard, and on the TS, still nothing.

And finally, I wouldn't consider myself hot, but I recieve a great many coments and that "look" from many a guy, yes, I game too

Goto your playback options in your sound settings and make sure your recording device is muted. (IE mic).

Also make sure the correct recording device is selected (ie mic).
