I know absolutely nothing about bluetooth or how it works. I assume I need a transmitter/reciever to attach to my computer (usb?). Secondly, can I use any Bluetooth headset, even if it is for a cell phone? If anyone can tell me what they are using and how it works, that would be great.

Thanks

Tobester,
If your computer is new then it may have bluetooth built into it but it is very unlikly that it will have. To connect a bluetooth headset to your computer you are going to need something like a bluetooth dongle that you can get at something like DABS or Ebuyer. As for using a cell/mobile phone headset, i dont think that would work, as you might be awear, only some headsets work with some phones etc so i dont think that would work.

Probably the best option, and the cheapest one is to buy urself a set a speakers and a mic for your computer, speakers - about £10-£20 and Mic about the same again.

Hope this has helped.

I use the scala-500 earpiece that came with my RAZR cell phone. I had to buy a USB Bluetooth adapter ($5 after rebate from newegg). It works great, although the range sucks -- I should have gotten the class 1 USB adapter, instead of the class 2. Anyway, the problem is that it doesn't have a push to talk on it, so there's really no way to talk AFK, only listen, say if you need to use the restroom or get another beer.

The other problem, BIG problem, is that the bluetooth connection stops after about 45 mins, and you have to do a song and dance to connect it again. There doesn't seem to be a setting to prevent it from disconnecting. If anyone knows how to fix this, that would be great. I don't think this little earpiece batteries even last that long though, 4 hours max. But I'd go buy a nicer headset if I could get it to stay connected! Make sure the earpiece is rechargable that's for sure!
