I addressed EA with an issue with my CAPS LOCK key not working to talk. I have my whole system set up to make this work, so I really can't use another key. Here's what I sent them and they sent me:

Hello Luke,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts. I’m sorry for the difficulty that you are having with Battlefield 2.

Unfortunately, we do not provide support for third party softwares such as TeamSpeak. Please contact the TeamSpeak team or your system manufacturer for more information regarding this issue.

I have used the TeamSpeak software for several months, and only in this game do I have issues with it. I have my CAPS LOCK key bound to talk there, and it works fine. Once I get into the game, it still works...until my battle has loaded. Once I can see the map and the combat area, my mic cuts in and out. I am positive that it is not a lack of hardware capabilities on my end.

I notice though when holding the talk key, the CAPS LOCK light on my keyboard is flashing. It is very difficult to use other keys, as I have all software set up so that I can use the CAPS LOCK key for my microphone. I would like to know what, if anything, I can do to be able to use that key in-game for my TeamSpeak software.

Thank you,
Luke

I guess I would like to simply know IF I can use this key, and if so, what I might need to do to allow this to work. Thanks in advance for your time and any tips!

No, you can't. I recently noticed that BF2 forces "Caps Lock" to be deactivated. I think that's cause BF2 is using this key for commander mode and this measure prevents typing in caps by mistake. So BF2 pushes the Caps Lock key again, whenever you enable caps.

I hope this was proper english. It sounds somewhat.....strange.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll have to remap my keys for all my software to make it work now... *sigh*

Its not an issue there. It works fine with every game...every binding..except CAPS LOCK in BF2.
