View Full Version : Hear "dings" when pusk-to-talk key pressed

Hello,

I am a new Teamspeak user and initially had it working fine. My computer info is:
Windows XP Prof. SP2
SoundBlaster Audigy2 (driver 5.12.1.383, 4/11/2003)
Using headset w/ external speakers powered off
Configured to use push-to-talk
Zone Alarm FW
Norton AntiVirus

I do not know what changed, but I suspect it may have something to do with my daughter messing with sound card settings so she could record herself singing.

The Problem:
1. I can connect to the server fine, I hear the Teamspeak message when I am connected.

2. I can hear others speak

3. When I press my push-to-talk key I see the green light next to my name light up.

4. I also hear a windows style "ding" when I press push-to-talk (or any other key). If a keep the key pressed I hear rapid fire "dings". This is what is different now, from when I had it working

5. I have enclosed a jpeg of my mixer settings

Things I have tried:
1. Uninstall/reinstall TeamSpeak. I don't think this did anything because my server connection data was still there when I reopened it.

2. Tried various options (Wave vs. Direct Sound). I think I had it in Direct Sound when it was originally working.

3. Tried Local test mode. Instead of hearing "dings" I hear a "throbbing" hearbeat type noise that rapidly increases in volume.

I hope you can help me. I really enjoyed using your product (before I messed it up that is)

Thank you

Probably your daughter changed the Windows event sounds. The event you're looking for is probably named "Star" or similar.

Just my opinion but it sound's to me it has nothing to do with TS. It sounds like it's something with your WIN XP audio and sound device. Not sure what to look for but check in the control panel and sounds and audio devices it's prob something in there.

Hi if your using WIN XP try This

Start -> Crtl Panel -> Sounds And Audio Devices -> Click The sound Tab at the Top of the Menu -> Look for default Beep and Click -> from the drop down menu find and set to (none) and apply test teamspeak see if it workssee if it fixes the problem

It happens sometimes to me to, when im on my clans ts and im playing a game called FarCry that sometimes happens.. I think it's the button you press to talk. You probably use ALT and that's what causes it. It used to do that to me to, but It doesn't anymore all of a sudden.. Could be a open window or something.
