View Full Version : No MOHAA sound with TS2.0.25.25 Client ??

Hi there,

One of our Clan members has a strange problem (in windows98) when playing MOHAA and using TeamSpeak (v2.0.25.25).
If he starts TS and then GameSpy and joining us in a MOHAA game, then his sound in MOHAA is gone. And if he starts Gamespy first and then TS and joining us in a MOHAA game then he can't speak with TS (but he can hear us!) and his MOHAA sound is restored.
Does anyone know what the problem is? We have tried some settings in TS (Wave instead of DirectSound) and Priority settings to RealTime, but nothing works.
Any help would be appreciated ...

Jimmy,

Have your man update his TS Client to the latest version - I've no idea if this will solve his issue. Although that version is now superseeded.

Also have your man ensure he has the lates updates for his Win98 OS.

He can run the Windows Update.

Hope those are some pointers in the right direction.

p.s. Not only has the client been updated, but the server has too - Ensure your TS Server host obtains the latest version.

Hey Paul,

Thank you for your quick answer and some pointers to try and solve this nasty problem for us. I have installed the latest server files tonight (version 2.0.18.234) and everbody has the latest Client version (v2.0.26.27) and he is the only one with this strange problem. We are gonne try to update the soundcard drivers and perhaps reinstall directx 8.1.
I hope this will help ....

Fingers Crossed....

If you could put up his PC Spec's that would help alot.

Motherboard
CPU
RAM
Soundcard & Driver Issue
Operating System

etc etc

Ensure your user has updated via the Windows Update page.

Someone with similar issues I've been working with on seeing if there's a solution - If your user has a Via Chipset, check out the link within the thread

With and MOHAA on direct sound, you should be able to hear both applications.

What soundcard do you have? SB pic 128 ? You might want to considder upgrading to a newer card.

Hi,

I haven't heard anything from my clanmember at the moment.
I will see him comming weekend. I will ask what type of mobo, soundcard, driverversions, etc. he is using.
As soon as i have more info i will post it here in this thread.
Thank you guys for trying to help us out ... i really appreciate it ! The rest of us really love TeamSpeak !! Works great with the other members !

This may or may not work but when he gets in game and has no sound for Mohaa have him bring down the console and try putting in this command

snd_restart

may have to do it once or twice but this is basically the same command as vid_restart for those annoying invisible enemies lol
