in case you use a router, you do not only need to open that port but you have to forward them (actually only the 8767 UDP is required). There is a huge difference between "open" and "forward" a port.
The no reply FAQ has some links to site where you can get "router" help (this forum here is not a router forum)

guldi tell wut is the different between opening and forwarding i would like to know.
opening ports make the port for the hole network behind the router possible to pass to
Forward port bind a port on a NatIP

[Would help if you mentioned if its a modem or router you have]
You only need open port 8767 (or ur chosen port) on UDP.
If you are using a router, you need to setup the TS Server service on the router, usually a manual addition, since its not listed as default. Then under the firewall settings, choose the service and tell it to pass requests to your LAN ip address, like 10.1.1.1 or 192.168.1.1
Now when ur mates try to connect they need to use the IP address issued to ur router from the isp and add the default TS server port.
e.g. 60.68.68.101:8767 (which ur router accepts, as the port is setup and bounces the reques to ur system which is running the TS server.

so then in other words its realy the same thing just some ppl got to have to different names for it opening and forwarding but yet it does the same thing.
no
When you OPEN for example a port in a firewall you just tell the firewall to not drop packets on one port (be it outgoing or incomming traffic). It's like opening the frontdoor and letting in all guys with black hair (representing e.g. a specific port). Inside the house, some of the rooms (representing a specific destination: PC) might be closed or not for these men's.
With port forwarding you have a buttler (called NAT) behind the door who immediately guides (a kind of routing) these guys with black hair to one specific room. You don't have to care to close specific rooms as your buttler guides these guys to that room (your PC hosting the TS server for example) you want them to go.
Hope you got it now.... I recommend to read a little bit about firewalls and gateways.
