View Full Version : TS wont connect after re-installation
I had TS on my RAID set and one of my RAID drives crashed. I removed TS through add/remove progs and re-installed it on my C: drive. All of my settings were still in TS when I started it up after the reinstall, but I cannot connect to any servers. If I goto the Web server list tab and hit update list, it says there was an error getting the list. So I un-installed TS again, and manually went through my registry to remove anything that appeared to be from TS. Re-installed, all my setting were there again and I still cannot connect. Un-installed TS a 3rd time, went through registry again, ran a registry clearner, re-installed TS, all my settings were there yet again, and still cannot connect.
If anyone has any ideas on how I can get TS to work again it would be much appreciated.
Mike
Delete or move the file teamspeak.conf in %appdata%\teamspeak2 to blank your custom settings and revert to defaults.
Cool Thanks. That got rid of my previous settings. I still cannot connect though. It says "error getting list" when I goto the Web Server List tab and hit update list. If I manually try to connect to a known TS server it says "No Reply from server. Maybe the server is offline, or teamspeak is not running on it." I checked the client.log and this is what was in it:

Any idea's why this is happening? I have my firewall turned off also.
Thanks,
Mike
Yes, this looks like the answer from the server doesn't arrive because it got lost on the way or there is a server running, but just not a Teamspeak server or the answer doesn't arrive in time because it was overly delayed.
You might want to try to run your Teamspeak client in debug mode. This relaxes the timeout constraints a little. To do so you need to edit your Teamspeak shortcut and add a -d into the target line.
I know the server is up because my friend is on it right now. I just read the FAQ and ran it in debug mode via "Settings/options/other/debug" and tried to connect to the server. still no dice, swiched back to normal and still doesn't connect. I am also not running on a wireless lan, the FAQ said that can couse probs also.
Let's try a traceroute to the server. Do you know how to do that?
no I don't. Hows it work? I can ping the server through a command promt though.
couldn't find traceroute in FAQ search either
EDIT: After brief google search I tried 2 diff traceroute places. I think I did it right. It asked for the server I wanted to trace and bam I got this:

It's tracert 123.123.123.123 where 123.123.123.123 is the IP address or the domain of the Teamspeak server.
What's the result of pinging the server? Latency low and stable?
ping is 49-52ms TTL 115
Tracert says over a maximum of 30 hops. 1 Tx error: code 65
EDIT: Microsoft knowledgebase article says error code 65 could be caused by zonealarm being incorrectly setup. ZA was on my raid drives when they crashed so maybe it screwed something up. Gonna see if I can download it again and play with it. Maybe thats the prob
BINGO!!! Zonealarm had screwed something up when my other drive crashed, even though it wasnt runing. So I re-installed ZA and now TS works fine. Thanks much for all your help Brain.
