hi all
i just installed the ts2 linux server on my 100mbit box
i was under the impression that i used to be able to make logins and such in the ts2 window itself.

now i installed the new one, retrieved the admin and password but i cant login into ts2
The worst of all is i cannot access the webadmin part
im trying to acess it using lynx but it wont show up.

does anyone have a suggestion

I know I have to open up the ports in the firewall.

However, it seems the recommended port to open is just the audio one. I don't have any GUI installed on the server so like DeFiAnCeNL, how can I make settings changes without the webserver open externally, and no local web browser?

Lynx? Well, if you like it.

There are several solutions:
If you have a static IP address at home just configure a filter rule - easy as proverbial pie. It's not 100% secure (only 99%) since there is no other authentication for access to the web interface than the IP address.
If you have a dynamic IP address at home you could get a DynDNS domain, point it to your home address and configure a filter rule to only allow access from this domain name.
If you want to be thorough you could use portknocking. However it is not easy to set up and configure and only makes sense if you have other services you would like to obscure that way.
You could establish an SSH tunnel if you have shell access. That's fairly easy and quick to implement.
If you only need to access the web admin interface once or twice a month if at all you could establish a temporary filter rule that allows access from your IP address only and reset your filter rules when you're done
