View Full Version : Connection Timed Out

I've been searching the threads for quite a while now and find problems similar to what I've been having, but no solutions thus far. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to get a TS server set up so that my friends and I can use it to communicate to each other while we're playing games.

Setup was a breeze on my webhost, running Linux, and I had no problems getting TS up and running. Managed to log into the Webadmin and fine-tune the server the way I want it, then the trouble started happening.

Connected clients would time out, and new inbound connections would fail with the message, "No reply from server. Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it." Webadmin would also fail to connect with a "This page cannot be displayed." error.

Quick check with ./teamspeak-2server_startscript status and it shows 'the server seems to be running'.

The only way to get back in is to restart the server. Uptime only lasts on average one-and-a-half to two minutes at the most.

It's really starting to bug me because I like to figure things out on my own to begin with, and would prefer NOT to ask for help - but I'm stumped here.

I've tried changing the HTTPServer Port, and the UDP port (couldn't get that one); also tried binding the IP address in the server.ini among other things. I don't think there's a firewall issue ... at least not on my end. I'd have to check with tech support on Monday. But if there is, then I don't understand how it would work for a minute or two and then lock everyone out.

Here's a part of my server.log:

The Socket Error # 10054 from all that I've read would lead me to believe it's a server-side problem, and not a client-side and would also correspond with why the TS clients and Webadmin get locked out at the same time.

Have you read this thread?:

Actually I'd skipped over that thread during my initial searches because the problems he seemed to be experiencing didn't seem to be the same as mine. He appeared to be running his host and his client on his local machine.

If I setup a TS server locally I have no problem with it staying up and logging into it indefinitely on my LAN. I don't know if anyone outside my LAN can log into it, but the point is moot, because that setup doesn't fit my needs. I don't have enough bandwidth to run a TS server locally, which is why I'm setting it up on my webhost.

I don't have a problem logging into other TS servers for indefinite periods of time, and often use public servers if they're available.

An example of my client log from a public server I picked randomly and joined for about 5 minutes and then left:

Did you ever fix this?

I'm having the exact same issues now...
